MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521118907 A) filed by Meril Corporation (I) Private Limited, Vapi, Gujarat, on Nov. 28, 2025, for 'pace regulating guidewire and method of making thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a guidewire (100). The guidewire (100) includes an elongate member including a proximal portion (111) and a distal portion (113). The proximal portion (111) is partially coated with one or more coating layers (117) and includes an uncoated region defining a pacing connection zone (115) configured to be electrically coupled to an excitation source (190). The distal portion (113) includes a curved section (113a). At least a part of the curved section (113a) is configured to contact heart tissue. A pressure sensor (165) is coupled to the distal portion (113) and configured to measure pressure of the blood. The curved section (113a) is configured to provide an excitation signal received from the excitation source (190) via the pacing connection zone (115) to the heart tissue based upon the measured pressure."
