MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521134669 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'orthopedic assistance device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An orthopedic assistance device, comprising a body 101, a user-interface inbuilt in the computing unit 102 for enabling a user to create a profile including basic details, medical history, and pain related information, an imaging unit detects user presence and capture facial images of the user, an articulated arm 104 is equipped with the member 105 having an articulated probe 106 for testing the user's knee, an acoustic transducer 107 emits micro-vibrations and detects acoustic signals from the knee to analyze resonance and damping patterns corresponding to bone density, cartilage integrity, and joint porosity, a cascading platform 108 accommodates the user, a magnetorheological gel is selectively solidified and liquefied, a exoskeletal sleeve mounted on an articulated linkage 110 includes curved plates 111 forming a clamping arrangement for the knee joint, inertial measurement unit 112, and three-dimensional laser scanner 113 to capture external knee geometry, load distribution, and motion parameters."
