MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517042865 A) filed by Fluxus, Inc., Sunnyvale, U.S.A., on May 2, for 'optofluidic devices.'
Inventor(s) include Zaugg, Frank; and Parks, Joshua Wayne.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein are waveguiding structures and methods of manufacturing waveguiding structures, a waveguiding structure (100) comprising: a waveguiding layer (106) comprising a first oxide layer (108), a second oxide layer (110) adjacent to the first oxide layer, a third oxide layer (112) adjacent to the second oxide layer on a side opposite from the first oxide layer, and an oxide strip (114) adjacent to the second oxide layer and extending at least partially into the third oxide layer, wherein the first, second, and third oxide layer and oxide strip form a ridge waveguide; a fluid channel (122) extending through at least a portion of the first, second, and third oxide layers and intersecting the ridge waveguide such that light (128) carried by the ridge waveguide is incident on the fluid channel; and a cover layer (124) affixed to the waveguiding layer and enclosing the fluid channel."
