MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547088009 A) filed by Koninklijke Philips N. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Sept. 16, for 'optical system for a body treatment device.'
Inventor(s) include Berezhnoy, Igor; Kulkarni, Nikhil Vikram; Mendoza, Jose Luis Diaz; Patil, Ravindra Balasaheb; and Juarez Urizar, Oscar Ricardo.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sensing system for use with a body care or body treatment device, such as a personal care device. The sensing system may be integrated in the device. The sensing system acquires optical sensing data of a tissue area proximal to the body care device during use, processes the sensing data to extract a representation of a superficial vein or blood vessel pattern at the tissue area and uses the representation of the vein pattern to infer information about a class of user (e.g. demographic class) or a body location to which the sensed tissue area belongs. Optionally, treatment-related information can be generated using this information. This may be an operational parameter setting, or may be monitoring information such as coverage information."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 25, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/057893.
