MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521126132 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 12, 2025, for 'ophthalmic solutions derived from phyllanthus emblica and related methods.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides an ophthalmic lipid base combination, comprising a fruit extract of Phyllanthus emblica (L.). The extract is obtained by processing a plant part of P. emblica L. to isolate bioactive constituents. The combination is prepared by incorporating the fruit extract into a sterile aqueous solution suitable for use as eye drops, which is subsequently packaged as an ophthalmic product. The combination is intended for topical ocular administration and is designed to alleviate and manage conditions such as dry eye syndrome, ocular strain, visual fatigue, and ocular inflammation."
