MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414100531 A) filed by Saurer Spinning Solutions Gmbh & Co. Kg, Ubach-Palenberg, Germany, on Dec. 18, 2024, for 'open-end spinning device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an open-end spinning device for producing either a Z yarn or an S yarn, comprising a spinning rotor rotatably mounted in a spinning rotor housing to which a vacuum is applied, and a drive unit that drives the spinning rotor to rotate either to the left or to the right. In order to provide an open-end spinning device for producing either a Z yarn or an S yarn, which enables consistently high yarn quality for both types of yarn, an opening roller is provided that can be driven to rotate to the left and right in accordance with the direction of rotation of the spinning rotor, as well as a Z yarn fiber guide channel and an S yarn fiber guide channel, which selectively connect the opening roller to the spinning rotor to guide the fiber and which each have a fiber outlet opening assigned to the spinning rotor and a fiber inlet opening assigned to the opening roller, wherein the fiber inlet opening and fiber outlet opening of the Z yarn fiber guide channel adjoin the left-hand side of the spinning rotor and the opening roller and those of the S yarn fiber guide channel adjoin the right-hand side thereof."
