MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511134148 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'open cell porous lattice structure and method for producing the open cell porous lattice structure.'

Inventor(s) include Kalyanasundaram, Dinesh; and Sharma, Ashish.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An open-cell pore lattice structure (100) and a method (500) for producing the open cell porous lattice structure (100) are disclosed. The open-cell pore lattice structure (100) comprises a periodic or quasi periodic architecture defined by a mathematical equation in spatial coordinates x, y, z, wherein, the equation comprises trigonometric functions of x, y, and z with selected coefficients and frequencies, such that the resulting structure exhibits interconnected pores throughout its volume; and the open-cell pore lattice structure (100) comprises a porosity and anisotropic mechanical properties selected to approximate biomechanical properties of target bone tissue."
