MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641017983 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology; and Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'offshore jacket structure configuration with variable water depth and wave-load response optimization.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. N. Manikandan; Praveen K; Dr. S. D. Kumar; Dr. A. Mathivanan; Dr. G. Sathih Kumar; Dr Manibalan P; Dr. S. Manivannan; Mr. Enock. I; Dr. Vigneshwaran S; and Mr. M. Krishna.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to offshore jacket structures designed for marine environments subjected to environmental loading. The invention provides a structural configuration and evaluation approach for four-legged offshore jacket platforms at varying water depths and wave heights. Hydrodynamic loading is calculated using Morison's equation, and structural response parameters such as displacement, base shear, and overturning moment are evaluated. The invention enables improved structural design and optimization of offshore jacket platforms for Indian offshore conditions."
