MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018173 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'offline multi-modal biometric authentication system and method.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multi-modal authentication system (100) includes an enrollment module (102) configured to capture and store biometric data from a user, including a face enrollment component (104) for capturing facial encoding data via a camera module (212), a voice enrollment component (106) for capturing voice data via a microphone module (214), and a behavioral enrollment component (108) for recording user-defined gestures using facial landmark detection. An authentication module (110) verifies user identity using a face verification component (112), voice verification component (114), and behavioral verification component (116). A decision logic component (118) applies a fusion mechanism granting access when all three verification components pass. An on-device storage system (200) stores biometric data locally without transmitting to external servers."
