MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104585 A) filed by Acic Miet Meerut Foundation; and Valmiki, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'off-grid vegetable washing machine for farmers.'

Inventor(s) include Valmiki.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to a portable vegetable washing machine (100) suitable for cleaning root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and radishes in field conditions. The machine comprises a pair of counter-rotating brush rollers (104, 106) mounted on shafts (110, 112) and driven by a motor (118) through spur gears (114, 116). A solar photovoltaic panel (122) and rechargeable battery (120), connected via a charge controller (124), provide electrical power for off-grid operation. Continuous water spray is supplied through perforated pipes (126) above the rollers, while mudguards (128) restrict splashing, and a collection box (130) below the rollers gathers used water for reuse. The integrated arrangement enables effective removal of soil and debris from root vegetables using renewable energy, minimizing water waste and manual labor, and providing farmers a sustainable, field-usable washing solution independent of external electricity supply."
