MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075842 A) filed by Rakuten Symphony, Inc.; and Rakuten Mobile, Inc., Tokyo, on Aug. 8, for 'o-cloud node shutdown management.'

Inventor(s) include Bhangu, Manmeet Singh; and Shete, Pankaj Tanaji.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a method, system, and device for shutting down an identified Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) Cloud (O-Cloud) node. The method may include: receiving, by a Federated O-Cloud Orchestration and Management (FOCOM), a recommendation from an rApp to shutdown an identified O-Cloud node; sending, by the FOCOM, an instruction to a Network Function Orchestrator (NFO) to relocate a workload from the identified O-Cloud node to alternative O-Cloud node based on the recommendation; and sending, by the FOCOM, an instruction to Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) to shutdown the identified O-Cloud node."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/012304.
