MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641017884 A) filed by Abhishek Ghara; Gurubasavaraja Swamy Purawarga Matada; Raja Rahul Shit; Arnab Kuity; and Trishita Paul, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 17, for 'novel tri-substituted imidazole derivatives as anticancer agents.'
Inventor(s) include Abhishek Ghara; Gurubasavaraja Swamy Purawarga Matada; Raja Rahul Shit; Arnab Kuity; and Trishita Paul.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to novel substituted tri-phenyl imidazole derivatives as potential small-molecule inhibitors of CD73 for the treatment of breast cancer. The compounds were designed using molecular docking and ADMET prediction studies to identify derivatives with favorable binding affinity and pharmacokinetic properties. Selected compounds were synthesized and evaluated for anticancer activity against the human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 using the MTT assay. Among the synthesized derivatives, certain compounds, particularly 6a and 6h, demonstrated significant inhibition of cancer cell growth. The invention further provides methods for synthesis and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the said compounds for therapeutic use."
