MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004841 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi; and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute For Medical Sciences & Technology, New Delhi, on Jan. 24, 2024, for 'novel process for developing thromboresistant surfaces.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a novel approach for developing thromboresistant surfaces in medical devices with amino compounds for long-term safety and efficacy enhancement of tissues, coming in contact with blood. The present invention aims to address the challenges associated with the natural tendency of tissues or artificial surfaces, to promote blood clotting."
