MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517068847 A) filed by Alphamol Science Ltd (SHANGHAI), Shanghai, on July 18, for 'novel phenylquinolone compound having antibacterial and anticancer functions, and preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Yuan, Shuguang; Li, Haijian; Pan, Qing; and Qin, Taisheng.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A phenylquinolone compound represented by formula (I) having antibacterial and anticancer activity, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a stereoisomer, a deuterated substance or a prodrug thereof; an antibacterial composition comprising one or more compounds or salts of formula (I); and a method for treating and preventing bacterial infections and tumor cell growth by administering several effective doses of the compound or salt of formula (I)."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 26, 2022, under International application No.PCT/CN2022/141813.
