MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517050499 A) filed by Monsanto Technology Llc, St. Louis, U.S.A., on May 26, for 'novel insect inhibitory proteins.'

Inventor(s) include Hall, Erin, L.; Howe, Arlene, R.; O'Brien, Brent, A.; Roberts, James, K; Stubbins, Francesca, L.; and Waldheuser, Stephanie, C.

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Pesticidal protein exhibiting toxic activity against Hemipteran and Lepidopteran pest species are disclosed, and include, but are not limited to, TIC11207 and TIC11304. DNA constructs are provided which contain a recombinant nucleic acid sequence encoding the disclosed pesticidal protein. Transgenic plants, plant cells, seed, and plant parts resistant to Hemipteran and Lepidopteran infestation are provided which contain recombinant nucleic acid sequences encoding the pesticidal proteins of the present invention. Methods for detecting the presence of the recombinant nucleic acid sequences or the protein of the present invention in a biological sample, and methods of controlling Hemipteran and Lepidopteran species pests using TIC 11207 and TIC 11304 pesticidal proteins are also provided."
