MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049472 A) filed by Panasonic Energy Co. Ltd., Osaka, Japan, on May 22, for 'nonaqueous electrolyte for secondary battery, and secondary battery.'

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte for a secondary battery comprising a cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride and a sulfur-containing compound. The sulfur-containing compound contains at least one selected from a group consisting of hexavalent and tetravalent sulfur compounds. The cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride is represented by general formula (1). The hexavalent sulfur compound has a structure represented by general formula (2). The tetravalent sulfur compound has a structure represented by general formula (3). R1 to R4 are respectively independently a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a hydrocarbon group. X1 is a fluorine atom, a hydrocarbon group or an oxyhydrocarbon group. X2, X3, and X4 are respectively independently a hydrocarbon group, a silyl group or an alkali metal, and at least one hydrogen atom of the hydrocarbon group may be substituted by a halogen atom."
