MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647036007 A) filed by Koninklijke Philips N. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on March 25, for 'non-uniform reconfigurable redirection device states for enhanced localization.'
Inventor(s) include Davies, Robert James; Dees, Walter; Cronin, Harry Michael; Duffy, David Michael; Walker, Nicholas Simon; and Meunier, Ben.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention proposes a system and methods by which at least one reconfigurable redirection device is controlled to apply non-uniform phase profiles to enhance localization of a target mobile device by creating a non-planar redirection pattern. Use and change of non-uniform phase profiles during the localization task allows discovery of information about the target mobile device location, such as angle or orientation with respect to the reconfigurable redirection device, using fewer transmissions and/or fewer hardware components."
The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/076206.
