MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517062354 A) filed by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Shanghai, on June 30, for 'non-oriented electrical steel having excellent comprehensive performance and manufacturing method therefor.'

Inventor(s) include Fang, Xianshi; Jiang, Quanli; Zhang, Feng; Wang, Bo; and Hao, Yunwei.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a non-oriented electrical steel having excellent comprehensive performance. In addition to Fe and inevitable impurities, the non-oriented electrical steel also contains the following chemical elements in mass percentage: C=0.0050%, 3.10%-4.50% of Si, 0.10%-2.00% of Al, and 0.10%-2.50% of Mn, wherein 3.75%=Si+Al=5.22%. Correspondingly, also disclosed is a manufacturing method for the non-oriented electrical steel. The non-oriented electrical steel has small magnetic anisotropy, high magnetic induction intensity, low medium-high frequency iron loss, and high yield strength, and can be widely applied to iron core materials of, for example, an electric vehicle driving motor, a high-speed motor, and an unmanned aerial vehicle."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 08, 2024, under International application No.PCT/CN2024/071107.
