MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079429 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 21, 2025, for 'non-aqueous electrolyte and lithium secondary battery comprising same.'

Inventor(s) include Yeom, Chul Eun; Lee, Jung Min; Lee, Chul Haeng; Ji, Su Hyeon; and Ko, Jin Hyuck.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte comprising a lithium salt, an organic solvent, and a compound of chemical formula 1 as an additive. [Chemical formula 1] In chemical formula 1, R1 is any one selected from the group consisting of F, R, a C1-10 alkyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine, a C2-10 alkenyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine, a C2-10 alkynyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine, OR' and OCOR', and R' is any one selected from the group consisting of a C1-10 alkyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine, a C2-10 alkenyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine, and a C2-10 alkynyl group, which can be substituted with at least one fluorine. In chemical formula 1 and R1, R is a structure represented by chemical formula 2. [Chemical formula 2] In chemical formula 2, each of Rx and Ry is independently either H or F."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/014117.
