MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061838 A) filed by Vignan's Foundation For Science, Technology And Research, Vadlamudi, Andhra Pradesh, on May 15, for 'next generation smart lock system with hybrid authentication.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Naga Srinivasarao Chilamkurthy; N. Akhil; M. Prem Chand; A. Pavan Sai Kumar; and Dr. K. Lova Raju.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention brings a next-generation smart door lock system that uses three separate checks to keep homes, offices, and buildings far safer than old single-key locks. The setup runs on a tiny ESP32 microcontroller and combines a keypad for typing a secret code, a phone app that listens for a spoken password over Bluetooth, and a fingerprint reader that scans your finger in seconds. Built-in Wi-Fi lets the lock send instant alerts to your phone if someone tries to break in, while Bluetooth keeps everything working smoothly even without internet. The whole thing stays cheap to build, fits any standard door, and gives owners full remote control from anywhere, making everyday security simple, strong, and truly smart for families, small businesses, and modern living spaces."
