MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631059263 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on May 9, for 'next gen-sos: smart health-sos: an ai-based predictive medical emergency response system.'

Inventor(s) include Subhasree Bhattacharjee; Rupa Saha; Sudip Das; Shreya Majumdar; and Swastika Khamrui.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An integrated predictive medical emergency response system combining wearable hardware, a mobile application and cloud services is disclosed. The wearable continuously acquires physiological (for example heart rate and SpO2) and motion data (for example accelerometer) and provides live location via a GPS module. Sensor data is transmitted to a mobile application where a predictive analytics module employing machine learning analyses patterns and an emergency detection module automatically determines emergency conditions. A multi-layer alerting system delivers notifications to predefined emergency contacts and services via application/cloud messaging, SMS fallback, and an independent GSM transmission from the wearable to ensure reliable alert delivery even when internet connectivity is unavailable. The system supports automatic, manual and voice-activated triggering and stores user profiles and historical data in a secure cloud backend."
