MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611000427 A) filed by Ct University, Ludhiana, Punjab, on Jan. 2, for 'neutraceutical gummies of ananas comosus and process thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Nitin Tandon; Dr. Jaswinder Kaur; Dr. Daisy Sharma; Navjeet Navee; Dr. Shiv Raj; and Divya Chettri.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Pineapple peel, often considered a by-product, is a nutrient-rich source of vitamin C and manganese, and can be effectively utilized in gummy form to deliver these essential micronutrients. Vitamin C in pineapple peel supports immunity, acts as a potent antioxidant, and aids collagen synthesis for healthy skin, blood vessels, and connective tissues. Regular intake can reduce oxidative stress and enhance resistance to infections. Manganese is a trace mineral crucial for bone formation, metabolism, and antioxidant defense. It supports enzyme function, aids in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and contributes to strong bones and joints. Pineapple peel gummies combine these benefits in a convenient, palatable format, improving compliance, particularly among children and adults who dislike traditional supplements. The use of natural fruit peel also aligns with sustainable, clean-label trends, making these gummies an eco-friendly, functional choice for boosting immunity, supporting bone health, and maintaining overall wellbeing."
