MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126533 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on Dec. 14, 2025, for 'neurosymbolic meta-cognition engine for advanced logical reasoning in ai.'

Inventor(s) include Chanda Pathak; and Dr. Ch. Jayanth Babu.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention offers a NeuroSymbolic Meta-Cognition Engine which improves sophisticated reasoning of artificial intelligence systems by incorporating neural representation learning into symbolic inference and meta-cognitive assessment. The system is made of a neural embedding encoder, symbolic inference engine, meta-cognition controller, multi-step reasoning orchestrator and knowledge graph integration module. A combination of these elements facilitates deductive, inductive, and abductive reasoning and permits self-reflective analysis, confirming and refuting, as well as correcting reasoning. Inference pathways are monitored by the meta-cognition engine to obtain outputs of transparent, reliable and logically consistent reasoning. The invention overcomes constraints of current AI systems by adding structured multi step inferences as well as symbolic grounding and introspective evaluation loops. Such applications are decision-support systems, autonomous agents, scientific analysis, diagnostic systems, and explainable AI systems."
