MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517085642 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on Sept. 9, for 'negotiation method and apparatus therefor.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in embodiments of the present disclosure are a negotiation method and an apparatus therefor, which can be applied to communication systems such as a long term evolution system, a 5th generation (5G) mobile communication system, a 5G new radio system or other future novel mobile communication systems. The method comprises: receiving a terminal device capability indication of a terminal device under satellite access, and feeding back network indication information to the terminal device on the basis of the terminal device capability indication. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the network indication information is fed back to the terminal device on the basis of the terminal device capability indication to indicate whether a terminal supports power-saving management and mobility management under the condition of discontinuous coverage of satellite access, and random communication within a preset time range before imminent loss of satellite signal coverage and after restoration of the satellite signal coverage, thereby avoiding the problems of unreasonable resource consumption or network congestion and the like when the terminal accesses a network by using a discontinuous coverage satellite, and thus facilitating saving of terminal and network resources."
