MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067849 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 16, 2025, for 'negative electrode composition, negative electrode for lithium secondary battery comprising negative electrode composition, and lithium secondary battery comprising same.'

Inventor(s) include Park, Junhyoung; Park, Su Jin; Lee, Jaewook; and Kwon, Yohan.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a negative electrode composition, a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprising the negative electrode composition, and a lithium secondary battery comprising same, whereby, by using a negative electrode active material including silicon oxide in which Si nanocrystals having an average particle diameter (D50) of 0.1 nm or more and 5 nm or less are included, in an appropriate composition combination with a negative electrode conductive material and a negative electrode aqueous binder, the energy density of a lithium secondary battery is enhanced, and by lowering the degree of degradation when driving the lithium secondary battery, the life characteristics can be further improved."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/012939.
