MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517093074 A) filed by Ningde Amperex Technology Limited, Fujian, China, on Sept. 28, for 'negative electrode active material, secondary battery, and electronic apparatus.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a negative electrode active material, which comprises a carbon-based material, the particle surface of the carbon-based material comprising an alkali metal element, and the alkali metal element comprising elemental sodium and/or elemental potassium. The present application involves processing the surface of the carbon-based material, which is for instance a graphite material, resulting in an organic substance layer similar to SEI film being obtained on the particle surface, thereby effectively improving SEI film quality, and further improving secondary battery first coulombic efficiency and cycle performance. Additionally provided is a secondary battery comprising the negative electrode active material."
