MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202347052922 A) filed by Cisco Technology, Inc., San Jose, U.S.A., on Aug. 7, 2023, for 'need-based antenna switching in wi-fi angle-of-arrival locationing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method may be provided. One or more packets from a client may be received, in a block based modulation environment, at one or more switchable antennas of an access point. The access point may have a plurality of switchable antennas. Each switchable antenna may have an antenna state. The plurality of switchable antennas may be switched among such that at least five of the antenna states are sampled. Angle of arrival of the client may be calculated based on the at least five of the antenna states."
