MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006725 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on Jan. 23, for 'nano-reinforced fibre-based polymer composition and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Boddu Shalini Valentina; Dr. V. Mahesh; Dr. I. Rajasri Reddy; and Dr. Rohit Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a nano-reinforced fibre-based composition (100) and method thereof, the composition (100) comprising a plant-derived bast fibre (102) in a predefined quantity enhance tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and durability, a thermosetting polymer (104) in a predefined quantity promote interfacial bonding with the plant-derived bast fibre (102), and maintain mechanical stability under fatigue and environmental aging, a nano-reinforcement particles (106) in a predefined quantity prevent formation of micro-cracks and decelerate crack propagation under cyclic loading. The composition may include the plant-derived bast fibre (102) is a hemp fibre act as the primary load-bearing reinforcement, providing high specific tensile strength, stiffness, and impact energy absorption. The composition may include thermosetting polymer (104) is an epoxy resin promote uniform cross-linking, and preserve the structural integrity under mechanical loads. The composition may include the nano-reinforcement particles (106) minimize the moisture and chemical permeation, mitigate chemical degradation during aging, and preserve mechanical stability."
