MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511124418 A) filed by Manav Rachna International Institute Of Research & Studies, Faridabad, Haryana, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'nano-encapsulated curcumin gel formulation and method of producing the same.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Nitin Bhagat; and Dr. Priyanka Sachdeva.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nano-encapsulated curcumin gel formulation (100) for maxillofacial applications is disclosed. The gel formulation (100) comprises a gel base in a first measured amount ranging from 20% weight/weight (w/w) to 50% weight/weight (w/w). The gel formulation (100) further comprises curcumin nanoparticles in a second measured amount ranging from 1% weight/weight (w/w) to 5% weight/weight (w/w). The curcumin nanoparticles are adapted to improve an absorption of the gel base at a maxillofacial site. The gel formulation (100) further comprises a stabilizing agent to prevent oxidative degradation of the curcumin nanoparticles mixed with the gel base. The gel formulation (100) further comprises a solvent to solubilize the curcumin nanoparticles, and enhance permeability through mucosal tissue barriers at the maxillofacial site. The gel formulation (100) improves solubility and absorption, allowing the active ingredient to reach effective concentrations at the target site."
