MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018002 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'nail trimming device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tanmayee Khuntia.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nail trimming device comprise of cylindrical member 101 having motor 102 attached at an end of member 101 by means of ball and socket joint 103, circular flap 104 attached with shaft of motor 102, an upper surface of flap 104 having abrasive coating for trimming nails, angle sensor embedded on member 101 detects angle of flap 104, ultrasonic sensor installed on member 101 to detect thickness of nail, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 installed on member 101 for recording and processing images in vicinity of member 101, vacuum unit 106 provided on member 101 for suctioning of debris generated during trimming of nails, nozzle incorporated on member 101 connected via a conduit with a tank within the member 101 for spraying of sanitizing solution."
