MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019738 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'nail art assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Poonam Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nail art assistive device, comprising a curved-shaped member 1 configured with a ring 2, accommodated over finger whose dimension is detected by a laser acuity sensor positioned on ring 2, an iris lid 3 closes for securing finger within ring 2, a camera 4 detects shape and dimensions of nail and based on which a sliding unit 7 translates each links 5 and followed by actuation of plurality of extendable links 5 configured at inner periphery of member 1 to extend/retract for gripping user's nail within member 1 via a cotton ball 6 attached with each links 5, a computing unit is wirelessly linked with device by means of a communication module and which is accessed by user for selecting type of design, and a holographic projecting unit installed on member 1 for projecting hologram over user's nail for guiding user in making nail art design on nail."
