MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102981 A) filed by Shabnam; Dr. Sultan Singh; and Dr. Mohit Kamboj, Hisar, Haryana, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'mycocarbon filter composition, process of preparation thereof, and method for purification of agricultural runoff.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a MycoCarbon Filter System and its preparation and use in the purification of agricultural runoff. The system consists of a composite matrix of biochar and fungal mycelium with organic fillers and a biodegradable lining. This invention achieves removal efficiencies of nearly 90% through the dual mechanisms of enzymatic pesticide degradation and adsorption of heavy metals. After use, the filter matrix is fully compostable, resulting in a nutrient-rich soil conditioner. This invention provides a comprehensive solution to sustainable agricultural water management and is low cost, renewable, and eco-friendly."
