MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079879 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'multipurpose utility holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Nisha Kumari; and Bhasker Pratap Choudhary.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multipurpose utility holding device, comprises of a triangular shaped body 1 associated with device to be positioned over a surface, an artificial intelligence based camera 2 to capture multiple images of surroundings for detecting a utility to be positioned by a user over body 1, multiple telescopically operated rods 3 to extend/retract in accordance with dimension of utility to be positioned over body 1, a convex lens 7 to allow user to see magnified view of utility as per user's requirement, a C-shaped flap 9 attached at a side of each of member 4, configured with multiple plates 10 to move plates 10 towards/away from each other as means of expanding/contracting flaps 9 in accordance with thickness of utility positioned over body 1 and a motorized roller 12 to unwrap sheet as means of preventing any damage to vision of user."
