MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541120988 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'multiple drill jig with adjustable diameter for external pipes.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a multiple drill jig with an adjustable diameter designed to provide accurate and stable drilling on external pipes of varying sizes. The drill jig (1) comprises a main barrel structure containing a drill guide (2) fitted with hardened sleeves (3) to protect the guide openings during drilling. End inserts (4) are provided at both sides of the barrel to position the tool on different pipe diameters. The adjustable aperture system includes an aperture hub (5), an outer rotating ring (6), an inner stationary ring (7), iris plates (8). and an iris hub (9), working together to expand or reduce the opening uniformly around the pipe. An end flange (10) encloses the aperture assembly, while the bore adjuster knob (11) allows the user to set and lock the required pipe size. The invention ensures firm gripping, prevents drill bit slippage, and offers a compact and durable solution suitable for metal, plastic, and other pipe materials."
