MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123215 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'multimodal lstm system for stress progression prediction.'

Inventor(s) include P Balakrishnan; A Anny Leema; Anway Nagarkar; Dhruv Prajapati; and Vishwjeet Patil.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a multimodal stress prediction system including a data collection module configured to receive physiological data from at least one physiological sensor, behavioral data from at least one behavioral sensor, and environmental data from at least one environmental sensor. The system includes a multimodal neural network having a first Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network configured to process the physiological data, a second LSTM network configured to process the behavioral data, a third LSTM network configured to process the environmental data, and a fusion layer (32) configured to combine outputs from the first, second, and third LSTM networks. A prediction module generates a stress level prediction based on the combined outputs from the fusion layer (32). The system processes physiological signals including electrocardiogram measurements, electrodermal activity readings, and skin temperature data through parallel LSTM architectures for real-time stress monitoring."
