MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133967 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'multiband microstrip patch antenna for non terrestrial network application.'

Inventor(s) include S. Abiramasundari.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses microstrip antenna apparatus with different substrates and design which is more suitable for NTN Application with the resonance frequency of 300Hz. This includes rectangular and circular patch with two different substrates such as FR-4 (Flame Retardant) and RT-Duroid and the results are examined. To evaluate the parameters like return loss, gain and directivity of rectangular and circular patch, CST studio site were used. Circular patch antenna with FR - 4 substrate works in dual band at resonance frequency such as 21 GHz and 330Hz yielding the return loss as -20dB and -15d8. This enables the simultaneous transmitting and receiving functionality in NTN System."
