MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123396 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 8, 2025, for 'multi station footwear sole cleaner with targeted activation cleaning zone.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a multi station footwear sole cleaner with targeted activation cleaning zone provide efficient, automated, and energy-efficient cleaning. The device comprises a movable base (4) with wheels (5) for easy relocation, an end frame (2) housing the cleaning mechanisms, and a partition frame (3) that divides the io cleaning area into multiple independent zones. Each sole cleaning zone (1) is equipped with rows of rotary brushes (7) surrounded by horizontal rotary bristles (10) to remove dirt from footwear soles. Pressure sensors (11) embedded in each zone detect foot placement and activate only the brushes in the occupied zone, ensuring targeted cleaning and reduced power consumption. Drive motors (8) transmit 15 rotational motion through brush rotary axles (9), while dust collecting trays (13) capture debris. An electronic interface (1.2) controls the operation of sensors and motors, and a power supply panel (6) provides the necessary electrical power. The invention offers a user-friendly, maintenance-friendly, and hygienic solution suitable for hospitals, industrial facilities, and public spaces."
