MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621009523 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Maharashtra, on Jan. 30, for 'multi-port charging system for simultaneous charging of multiple electrical vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Anshuman Shukla; Bikramaditya Chandan; and Suman Mandal.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method and a multi-port charging system (100) for simultaneous charging of multiple electrical vehicles. The multi-port charging system (100) includes an AC power source (101) to supply AC power and a single AC/DC converter (102) to receive the AC power from the AC power source (101) and convert the AC power to DC power. The multi-port charging system (100) includes a plurality of DC/DC converters (103), each of which has an identical voltage and power rating. The DC/DC converters (103) are operable independently or in combination in series and parallel configurations. An Adaptive Switching Module (ASM) (104) includes a switch network and a diode network. The multi-port charging system (100) furthermore includes a plurality of charging ports (105) to connect to the EVs, where the ASM (104) provides the necessary output capacity for simultaneous charging of multiple EVs."
