MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621003636 A) filed by Endurance Technologies Limited, Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on Jan. 13, for 'multi-plate wet clutch assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Sachin Vitthalrao Thakare; Yogesh Pundlikrao Shambharkar; and Nilesh Gajanan Dhakre.

The application for the patent was published on Fe. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention is related to a multi-plate wet clutch assembly (300) for a two and three wheeled vehicles wherein the hub clutch (204) of the plate clutch assembly (200) is configured to have a three step profile comprising of a base plate (207), a body portion (204D) and a central hub portion (204A). The base plate (207) of the hub clutch (204) is a circular member configured to have two faces namely a torque transmitting face (207T) and an outer face (207B). The disc portion (201S) of wheel clutch (201) is configured to have a torque transmitting face (201T) and an opposite back face (201B). The torque transmitting face (207T) of the hub clutch (204) and the torque transmitting face (201T) of the wheel clutch (201) are configured to have a plurality of segments (207F, 201F) of the friction material intelligently embedded or bonded thereon so as to act as the primary torque-transmitting elements of the base plate (207) of the hub clutch (204) and the disc portion (201S) of the wheel clutch (201). This unique construction ensures uniform load distribution, improved heat dissipation, enhanced oil flow in a wet clutch environment and reduced stack wear. The factor of safety was found to enhance in the range of 10% to 21%. The stack wear got reduced by 15.7% after the testing for almost 400 cycles, static torque got increased by 10% with complete elimination of wear and tear."
