MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105005 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'multi-modal posture corrective seating device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Himanshu Gakhar.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multi-modal posture corrective seating device, comprises of a base 101, a seat 102a pivotally attached with the base 101 through a telescopic rod 103 enabling vertical adjustment, the chair 102 having a seat 102a and a flap 104 serving as a backrest for seating and standing postures, an arm rests 106 attached laterally through sliding unit 107 for variable positioning, a horizontally extending telescopic link 108 provided with a plate 109 for foot support, a user interface communicating with a computing unit to process medical details for determining suitable posture and permissible sitting or standing time, a determination module for ergonomic analysis, laser and EMG sensors detecting user height and muscular activity, a plurality of pressure sensors monitoring weight distribution, an FBG sensor detecting back strain, and a work desk 112 mounted on an articulated telescopic bar 113 providing an ergonomically aligned work surface for the user."
