MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073998 A) filed by Chandigarh Engineering College, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'multi-modal cooling device for heat generating equipment.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sukhdeep Singh; Dr. Rajeev Kukreja; Dr. Shivinder Singh; Dr. Varinder Singh; and Dr. Sahil Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multi-modal cooling device for heat generating equipment, comprising a frame 101 composed of multiple horizontal telescopic rods 102 and vertical telescopic links 103 connected perpendicularly at both ends of the rods 102 forming an inverted U-shaped configuration for cooling of the equipment, multiple tracked wheels 104 for locomotion of the frame 101, an imaging unit 105 to determine position and dimensions of the equipment, multiple rectangular plates 106 attached via hinges 107 provide shielding to the equipment from an external environment, a heat fins 108 for absorption of heat radiated from the equipment, a spray cooling unit 109 configured with multiple nozzles 110 arranged by means of ball and socket joints 111 and connected in a coolant tank 112 to spray coolant on the equipment and an air conditioning unit 113 for absorbing heat from equipment lacking an outer casing."
