MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133731 A) filed by Gna University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'multi-layered knee orthotic.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pawan Deep; and Arpit Kulshreshtha.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multi-layered knee orthotic, comprising a multi-layered shield structure 101 designed to conform naturally to a human knee, a plurality of articulated segments 105 integrated with flexible joints 106 attached with the shield structure 101 to minimize restriction and enable full freedom of movement while maintaining protective integrity over knee joint, a set of straps 107 configured with memory-fit fabric provided with shield structure 101 to wrap around calf and thigh regions of knee, Velcro fastening means 110 are configured with the straps 107 to allow secure and customizable fitting around user's knee, a thermos-regulation module provided with shield structure 101 includes a detachable thermal gel insert 108 arranged to facilitate in inflammation control and pain management, and a biomimetic C-shaped footplate 109 is configured with the shield structure 101 for natural rollover while walking."
