MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521085818 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Sept. 10, 2025, for 'multi-layered filtration.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. N. Madhavan.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a multi-layered sediment sieve system for stormwater management housed within a cylindrical conduit (1). Stormwater enters through an inlet section (6) and passes sequentially through an upper coarse mesh sieve (2), an intermediate medium mesh sieve (3), and a lower fine mesh sieve (4). Each sieve is supported by a ring frame (5) and retains particles of corresponding size in sediment collection zones (8). The outlet section (7) discharges filtered stormwater after progressive sediment removal. A protective cover cap (9) prevents unwanted debris entry and provides access for maintenance. A slope base support (10) positions the system to enable smooth flow and effective sediment settling. The invention ensures improved filtration, extended filter life, and consistent water flow in stormwater pipelines."
