MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044213 A) filed by Aditya University; Aditya College Of Engineering And Technology; Aditya College Of Pharmacy; and Aditya Degree College, Surampalem, Andhra Pradesh, on April 7, for 'multi-functional tool for pipe holding, bending, expansion, marking and method of operation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Gurugubelli Sowjanya; Ramesh Sabbavarapu; Aparna Pilaka; Vanamadi Keerthana; and U. Lakshmi Nagendra Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure proposes a multi-functional tool (100) configured for performing pipe holding, bending, expansion, and angle marking on a workpiece (10). The tool (100) comprises a base (102) and a movable plate (104) defining a structural frame, and a clamping assembly (108) having holding jaws (110A, 110B) actuated by a screw shaft (112) and a knob (114) to securely retain the workpiece (10). A handle (116) having an internal gear (120) selectively meshes with pinion gears (122, 124, 126) mounted on a shaft (118) to transmit rotational input. A bending assembly (128), a pipe expansion assembly (134), and an angle marking assembly (144) are operatively driven through the shaft (118). The tool (100) enables sequential operations without removal or repositioning of the workpiece (10), thereby maintaining alignment and improving dimensional accuracy."
