MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511124854 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'multi-functional dining table for elderly and assisted care.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A multi-functional dining table for elderly and assisted care, comprises of a rectangular multi-layered tabletop 101, a motorized dual-axis gimbal stand 102 for real-time stabilization, an automated beverage filling arrangement to facilitate controlled filling of a beverage, a rotating food plate delivery arrangement to align selected food plates towards users, an AI-enabled camera 103 to monitor user behavior and detect eating patterns, a plurality of biochemical sensing modules for real-time nutritional analysis and detection of potential allergens in food placed on the tabletop 101, a plurality of wearable biometric bands, adapted to be worn by users over wrist portion of the user's body while dining, a set of non-invasive sensors to monitor physiological and biochemical parameters of user in real time, an articulated assist arm 106 for assisting users with food handling, and a plurality of microphones 108 and speakers 109 for detecting distress signals and initiating emergency response."
