MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521124249 A) filed by Dr. Vishwanath Karad Mit World Peace University, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'multi electric vehicle charging connector.'

Inventor(s) include Nair Gokulkrishna Arun; Abhishek Madhukar Thote; and Shrikant Krishnanath Yadav.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an assembly (100) for a multi electric vehicle charging connector. The assembly (100) comprises: a circular housing (102) configured to accommodate a plurality of charging connectors including a Type 2 connector, a CCS 2 connector, and a CHAdeMO connector; a rotational alignment mechanism (104) comprising a spur gear and ball bearings, operatively coupled to a DC motor, wherein the mechanism is configured to selectively position one of said charging connectors at a designated actuation axis; and a linear actuator (108) comprising an actuator body, motor gear, screw gear, and shaft bearing, wherein the actuator is configured to actuate the selected charging connector from a rest position to a charging position. The assembly (100) thereby enables charging compatibility with multiple electric vehicle standards using a single integrated device, ensuring interoperability, automated connector selection, and efficient utilization of charging infrastructure."
