MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521032351 A) filed by Entod Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Maharashtra, on April 1, 2025, for 'moxifloxacin ear drop composition and its method of preparation.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to the field of Moxifloxacin veterinary ear drop composition which helps to reduce bacterial load and resolves AOE symptoms more quickly because of its superior tissue penetration and larger concentration in the external ear canal. The composition demonstrates enhanced chemical and physical stability, superior ear tissue penetration, crystal-clear appearance, and improved clinical resolution compared to conventional formulations. The invention also provides a simple and scalable manufacturing process involving dissolution of excipients in propylene glycol, pH adjustment, and sterile filtration into LDPE bottles. The composition is free from preservatives, minimizes ear canal irritation, and provides a synergistic balance of excipients to optimize efficacy, bioavailability, and patient comfort."
