MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541129849 A) filed by Kit-Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute Of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 22, 2025, for 'movable official sitting chair with integrated collapsible enclosed cabin for privacy in public places.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a movable official sitting chair with an integrated collapsible enclosed cabin designed to provide instant privacy in public places. The system includes a sitting chair (1) supported on movable legs with quadrant type wheels (2), hand resting arms (3), and a back rest (4). A collapsible rear shield (5) is integrated on the rear side of the back rest (4) and houses a foldable side extension shield (6) and a front foldable extension shield (7). The shields are extendable using a pulling handle (9) and connected through foldable hinges (10), (11) to form a partially enclosed cabin around the user. A foldable workspace platform (8) is provided on the front shield (7) for placing laptops or digital devices. After use. the shields are folded back into the rear shield (5), restoring the chair to its normal form. The invention offers a compact, portable, and effective privacy solution for official work in crowded public environments."
