MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019746 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'mouth covering device for pets.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Usama Uddin; and Bhawna Saraswat.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mouth covering device for pets comprising a hemi-spherical body 1 developed to accommodate with mouth portion of a pet, a pair of straps 2 are attached with the body 1 for securing body 1 on mouth portion, multiple pressure sensors assembled on the body 1 for detecting pressure applied by the body 1, a pair of motorized rollers 3 installed on the body 1 for rotating on its axis to tighten the strap, an AI based imaging unit 4 installed on the body 1 for capturing images of the mouth portion, a vacuum based cleaning unit 6 installed inside the body 1 for cleaning the mucus, an IR emitter 8 for emitting Infrared rays on the pet's body 1 to normalize the blood flow, multiple iris 9 for opening to allow flow of air inside body 1 and a speaker 10 to alert the user regarding discarding of mucus."
