MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085831 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 15, 2023, for 'mounting structure for mounting a battery pack in a vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mounting structure (200) for mounting a battery pack in a vehicle comprises a vehicle floor having cross members (202) provided on a lower side of the vehicle floor, and a battery support configured to be fitted to the vehicle floor from an underside thereof. Each cross member (202) comprises a U-shaped cross-section having two side walls (204) fixed to an underside of a floor panel of the vehicle floor, and a base portion (206) connecting the side walls (204). The base portion (206) comprises a battery support surface (208) projecting downward and coupled to the base portion (206) through an elastic form feature (210). The elastic form feature (210) allows upward movement of the battery support surface (208) upon the battery support surface (208) touching the battery pack to allow the battery pack to be accommodated between the vehicle floor and the battery support."
